Dailed In’s 4-year-old son Mugaritz won his second straight stakes in Saturday’s Joseph T. Grace S. at Golden Gate Fields and upped his overall win streak to five, which 10 months ago on New Year’s Eve.
Owned by Mercardo Alejandro, Mugaritz has won seven of 12 lifetime starts and earned $167,125. He is one of Dailed In’s 16 stakes horses in 2019.
Mugaritz was in a battle for the entire 1 1/16-mile trip on Saturday, most of it with Sixes, with the two side-by-side until the final furlong, when Sixes began to fade. Camino Del Paraiso made a big late run, but Mugaritz held him off to win by a neck (VIDEO).
Bred by Sean and Barbara Speck in Kentucky, Mugaritz is one of seven winners out of Flag the Mint Down.
